Friday is the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. The day when the Second World War officially ended in Europe.
As a challenge we would love for you all to try and decorate your rooms or houses as much as you can in red, white and blue. Please send us any photos of your amazing creations and decorations and we hope that you take time on Friday to mark the special occasion.
At 11am on Friday you could take part in the nationwide 2 minute silence to remember all those people who sacrificed their lives in the war. Then at 3pm you could watch the address Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill have the country. Then join together and have a picnic in the garden or front room!
At 9pm (it’s is weekend after all!) you could watch the Queen address the nation about this remarkable day. The same time her father King George VI addressed the nation on the radio 75 years ago.
Most importantly stay safe and stay happy. In the words of Dame Vera Lynn, “We’ll meet again, Don’t know where, Don’t know when, But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day, Keep smiling through, Just like you always do, ‘Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.”
