Our Mission Statement

We are made in the image of God to live, love and learn in a caring Catholic community, where tolerance, confidence and independence are nurtured and every achievement makes us proud.

Aims

To live, love and learn together as a caring Catholic community by providing opportunities to promote each child’s innate capacity for spiritual growth by:

  • supporting parents to be the first educator of our children
  • make Christ and the church known to all
  • seizing opportunities to celebrate the awe and wonder of life
  • being positive role models who treat each other with respect and fairness
  • engaging in opportunities to develop self-confidence and self-esteem

To provide an education which enables all children to reach their full potential by enjoying a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum including:

  • planning and delivering the curriculum and extra-curricular activities to ensure provision of a rich variety of learning opportunities
  • providing work with challenge and differentiation to meet the needs of all individual pupils
  • using assessment, marking and evaluation to inform and enrich future teaching and learning and to track individual pupil progress
  • providing opportunities for all staff to develop professionally
  • having high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • to celebrate all achievements

We aim to nurture a sense of belonging, to welcome and work in partnership with families, the parish and the wider community by:

  • developing our responsibilities and rights as citizens in the local, national and global community
  • giving children opportunities to develop understanding, respect, appreciation and tolerance of other faiths and cultures, including their own
  • developing positive links between home, school and parish community
  • listening to, share information and acting upon the ideas and concerns from parents
  • working in partnerships of all the schools within the parish of St John XXIII
  • working in partnership with other schools, near and far, to enhance the outcomes for our children
  • communicating and consulting with all stakeholders.
