St Teresa's Catholic Primary School

Elm (Y4)

Welcome to Year 4

Elm Class

The adults who work in class are Miss McCarty and Mrs Nuttall. Please follow the links below to find out more information about our expectations for children in Year 4.

Our PE days will be Monday and Wednesday. PE kits should stay in school until they are sent home.

Homework will be set each half term and will come home in a grid. This will need to be completed by the day stated on the sheet and handed in to earn some Dojo rewards. Please do not feel that your child must complete every task. The most important home learning will be the daily reading, spellings and times table practice.

Reading daily is essential in Year 4. Children earn Reading Rockets for reading at home which build to earn rewards. In order to claim their reward, children must show us their signed reading record diary. Children may complete their diary independently.

Spellings will be set weekly with a test on a Friday. These will be sent home via our class Dojo page and also accessed on EdShed.

Times Tables Practice

We will continue to test and develop our times tables skills with weekly tests on a Friday. Children will be responsible for learning their times tables up to 12 x 12 in preparation for the multiplication tables check, which will take place in summer.
