The Year 6 Tag Rugby represented St Teresa’s well at the Tag Rugby Tournament at UCLAN sports arena. After winning two matches and losing two they came third overall. We are incredibly proud of their achievements.
The children said they were great at passing, spotting tactics and working a a team.
The Year 6 Rugby team travelled to UCLAN once more to compete in more matches as part of the league matches for the division.
Unfortunately, one team did not turn up. The children played well against the second team and managed an 8-8 draw.
The teamwork and sportsmanship displayed by the team was outstanding. They were once again brilliant representatives of St Teresa’s.
Eight Year 5 and 6 spent the morning being coached by Basketball coaches, they had a fantastic time and developed new skills. Hopefully they will be able to put these new skills into action on the playground and possibly teach others a trick or two.
10 Year 6 children braved the wind and rain to represent St Teresa’s at some of the Tag Rugby league matches. They worked brilliantly as a team and won the two matches they played. Well done 👏
Last term we had an attendance competition and these were the winners of our attendance posters! What amazing talents we have in our school! Check them out ...
Today we had a visit from the donkeys and the children all got a turn to ride the donkeys or to lead them on a walk. They had a great afternoon, although some got a little wet. The children enjoyed being able to experience what Mary would have experienced as she travelled to Bethlehem to await the arrival of Jesus at Christmas.
The children have prepared art work, poetry and singing to commemorate Remembrance Day.
We held a minutes silence and the children were so respectful
Below is a link to watch Year 6 perform In Flanders Fields
A group of six children from Year 1 and Year 2 went to Westview Leisure Centre to compete in a mini skills event.
The children worked well as a team and demonstrated resilience and determination as they made their way through the activities. They behaved impeccably and have made us very proud.
Well done
During the half term a number of our Year 5 and Year 6 children have represented school as part of the mixed football team.
The team travelled to St Patrick's to take part a number of matches for each Friday evening that they attended.
The children played well and enjoyed the experience.
We are proud of the children and look forward to future matches.
On Tuesday, 10th October, the children were given the chance to wear an item of green to show support for and give a talking point for World Mental Health Day.
They all took time out of their day to discuss about mental health and how they can improve and sustain their positive mental health. The children enjoyed different activities and taking part in chatting to their peers.
This work is continued to be supported each week by the delivery of MyHappyMind sessions during which the children learn about their brain and how it works, how to creative positive wellbeing for themselves and others around them. They thoroughly enjoy these sessions.
