It is our intention to provide an RE curriculum which allows our children to develop their spirituality to deepen their understanding of their religion and life-choices in the presence God. We strive to allow the children to develop the skills to be articulate and express their own understanding and beliefs, responding to other people’s opinions and to reflect upon the teachings of Jesus. They are also encouraged to develop their skills to be respectful towards other people and the environment.
We provide the children with the ability to be curious by encouraging them to ask questions and to show awe and wonder about the world created by God. We want our children to be aspirational so that, with the help of God, they can achieve any ambition, develop their understanding of God’s plan for them and to know that He will support and guide them through opportunities and during times of despair.
In line with the Diocese of Lancaster support for planning; our EYFS, Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 classes will deliver their Religious Education curriculum based on the delivery of the new RED. In Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 this will be supported by the 'Vine & Branches' Catholic Education Publication. From September 2025 Year 5 will begin move onto this curriculum and followed by Year 6 in September 2026.
