Please follow the links below to find out more information about our expectations for children in Year 4.
Our PE day will be Wednesday and the children should come into school in their PE Kit. If they have a club then they will need to bring their kit.
Homework will be set each week. This will be sent home on a Monday and need to be returned by Friday. The home work will focus on spellings and times table practice which is the most important home learning, along with daily reading of between 15 and 20 minutes.
Reading daily is essential in Year 4. Children earn rewards throughout the year for completing their reading and also their homework. In order to claim their reward, children must show us their signed reading record diary. Children may complete their diary independently.
Spellings will be set weekly with a test on a Friday. These will be sent home via homework and also accessed on EdShed.
Times Tables Practice
We will continue to test and develop our times tables skills with weekly tests on a Friday. Children will be responsible for learning their times tables up to 12 x 12 in preparation for the multiplication tables check, which will take place in summer.
