Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Today we had the performance of the Year 3 and 4 Passion Play.
The children delivered their lines perfectly and the singing was amazing!
They had an amazing audience, which included the Mayor of Preston and Fr Etienne.
Today we received the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes to commemorate the Centenary of the Diocese of Lancaster. These statues have been blessed and commissioned to encourage devotion to Our Lady, deepen our faith, and strengthen the bonds between our diocesan schools.
We welcomed the statue during our Lenten Mass in school with Fr Chapple, who then led a procession around the field as we recited a decade of the rosary in devotion to Our Lady.
On Monday 31st March, we had a special visitor, the Mayor of Preston. The school councillors had the privilege of giving the Mayor a tour of our school and they held a council meeting discussing ideas on how to improve our school.
Yet another successful coffee morning. It was lovely to see so many people there.
Mr Kay reminded everyone about the importance of attendance in school and how that even missing 7 days of school in the year can have a chance of your child falling behind. He reminded us how we can all work together to improve attendance in school.
Keep your eyes out for the date of our next one.
Today we celebrated World book Day!
We had some amazing costumes and we celebrated a love of reading, classes completed different activities, children got to visit the school library and we listened to lots of stories!
Remember to read at home for 20 minutes a day! It makes all the difference!
This morning we had another successful coffee morning!
Lots of items were up for grabs and it was the perfect chance to chat to staff in school and each other about any concerns or support needed. A huge thanks goes to Tesco for our fruit and vegetables.
Mr Kay also reminded everyone about the importance of reading at home and ensuring that you support your children with this each night.
We look forward to our next one ... keep your eyes peeled for a date!
Today we celebrated Mass with Fr Chapple in school for the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The Church celebrates the Memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes today, marking the first apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1858 to fourteen-year-old Marie Bernade (St. Bernadette) Soubirous. Between February 11 and July 16, 1858, the Blessed Virgin appeared eighteen times, and showed herself to St. Bernadette in the hollow of the rock at Lourdes.
A prayer for the Feast: Grant us, O merciful God, protection in our weakness, that we, who keep the Memorial of the Immaculate Mother of God, may with the help of her intercession, rise up from our iniquities. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
This afternoon our school council walked to the town hall to meet the Mayor of Preston (Philip Crowe) and also have a tour. It was a great privilege for our children to meet him and ask him lots of questions.
We have lots of amazing learning going on in school and also at home.
Every Friday in assembly children can celebrate what they are proud of. Look at this amazing piece of homework one of our children completed.
Today we had a lovely stay and play with our EYFS children and parents. It was lovely seeing so many parents join in the special Chinese New Year activities with our children.
